What browser should you use to save your batteries?

You wouldn’t think it, but your choice of what browser you use has a pretty significant impact on your computer’s battery life. And since the majority of what we do on our computers is browse the web (unless you’re a graphic designer or video editor or hardcore gamer), it can add up to a pretty significant chunk of time.
So lets have a look at the study and the results (courtesy of Apartment Therapy Unplugged)

Explored by the team at Anandtech, the graph above pretty much sums up the results quite nicely. After a series of tests, they found that there was a 30% difference between the worst performing browser, Apple’s Safari, and the best – Internet Explorer 8. Firefox comes up second, even with Adblock installed. Yeah, we’re pretty surprised ourselves at the results.
Of course, we take all these tests with a grain of salt. We’re speculating IE might have done so well due to certain elements possibly being pre-loaded by the OS. But then again, we might be completely wrong and it might actually deserve the praise from these tests.
