Thursday, September 17th, 2009

You wouldn’t think it, but your choice of what browser you use has a pretty significant impact on your computer’s battery life. Microsoft’s hideous new logo

Wednesday, August 12th, 2009

For whatever reason, Microsoft has decided that Windows needs a new logo. Fine. Come up with something snazzy, then. Or simple and sleek like Apple’s logo.
But not this ugly simplistic block of colors a kid could make with 10 minutes of training on Paint. Do they really expect this to sell?
Worse yet, although [...]

The biggest tech-related mistake you’ll ever regret

Thursday, August 6th, 2009

You might be wondering what the headline means. The biggest tech-related mistake you’ll ever regret?
I’m not talking about throwing your computer out the window. That I can understand, even if it is pretty dumb (at least cash it in if you want to get rid of it…but I suppose that’s not as satisfying). A computer [...]

Microsoft Toaster

Wednesday, July 22nd, 2009

I found this on Engadget and found it pretty funny so I thought I’d share. I’m not sure if this photo is a fake, but someone had the ingenuity, humor, and free time to design a toaster that scorches the Windows logo onto bread. Or the ingenuity, humor, and free time to Photoshop a piece [...]

Microsoft still isn’t talking particulars — the whens and wheres — of the family of Microsoft-branded [...]

Microsoft’s energy management tool, Hohm, which launched as a beta this week, is a clear play to help consumers save energy. Log into the Hohm web site, enter your ZIP code and other details about your residence, and the service predicts your home energy use (or links to your historical energy use via your utility) [...]

Is Google scared of Bing?

Thursday, June 18th, 2009

As Bing wraps up its second week, the numbers are in. According to the net measurement group Comscore, Bing served up some 12 percent of all search results pages in the U. S. last week, when nearly 17 percent of searchers used Bing. While those are nice improvements for Microsoft’s perpetually sub-10 percent share, third-place [...]
